Akro Agate Co., was formed in 1910 in Akron, Ohio. They later went bankrupt in 1951. Akro manufactured many of the marbles popular with collectors, including corkscrews, oxbloods and more. Akro is also credited with producing the great majority of all vintage slags. They were the largest U.S. manufacturer throughout much of their existence.
